Sectors

Each sector and field of application requires specific rubber, silicone or fluorosilicone compounds, all formulated to guarantee excellent performance.

The solutions developed and produced by COMET are used in the most varied industrial fields: the versatility of the materials and the know-how acquired over the years by the company management have the power to transform elastomers into everyday objects with high added value.

Aerospace

It includes air vehicles for the transport of people and goods, both civil and military, as well as space vehicles and instruments. The organic and silicone compounds developed in COMET for these industries can be transformed both by molding and extrusion, and are intended to be used as is or assembled into final products.

Automotive & Transport

Organic and silicone compounds that are formulated to be transformed, both by molding and extrusion, into articles to be used as is or mounted assembled on means of transport of people and goods. We are therefore talking about parts for cars, motorcycles, trucks, buses, campers and caravans, trains and all means of transport in general.

Medical

Silicone compounds formulated to be transformed into biomedical devices intended for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. The materials are tested in relation to duration (<24h, >24h, >30 days) and type of contact (contact with skin, invasive devices, implants and devices in contact with blood.)

Energy, Oil & Gas

Organic and silicone compounds that are formulated to be transformed into products both by molding and extrusion and intended to be used as elements of assembled components involved, more generally, in systems for the production, processing and conveyance of gaseous and non-gaseous petroleum products, in part intended for energy production, both for the civil and industrial sectors (power plants, oil platforms, oil pipelines, gas pipelines).

Household appliances

Organic and silicone compounds formulated to be transformed into products (mainly custom-designed technical items, gaskets, sleeves and tubes) intended to be assembled into products dedicated mainly to both civil and industrial applications. Typical examples are washing machines, dishwashers, food processors and many others, present both in homes and in accommodation facilities such as hotels, restaurants, etc.

Heating and water management

Organic and silicone compounds that are formulated to be transformed into products both by molding and extrusion and intended to be used as elements of assembled components involved, more generally, in water transport systems and civil and industrial water heating.

Infrastructure

Organic and silicone compounds formulated to be transformed into products both by molding and extrusion and intended to be used as component elements of more complex structures: building projects, large works and constructions. The infrastructure network includes all transport networks (motorways, seaports, airports, railways, tunnels, aqueducts, sewers) and telecommunications networks, but also public and private buildings.

Industry

Organic and silicone compounds that are formulated to be transformed, both in molding and extrusion, into rubber parts intended to be used as is or assembled into final products mainly dedicated to industrial applications. Pump seals, fluid conduction pipes, membranes, flanges are just some examples.

Food & Beverage

Organic and silicone compounds that are formulated to be transformed into rubber or silicone parts (mainly pipes, fittings, gaskets, membranes) intended for contact with foods, drinks, food liquids (e.g. milk) or drinking water, used both in the home and in the food and industrial sectors or zootechnical industries.

Agriculture

Organic and silicone compounds that are formulated to be transformed into different types of products, intended to be used as is or assembled into final products, mainly dedicated to the production and transformation into agricultural products.

Electric & Electronic

Organic and silicone compounds designed to be transformed into articles intended for use in this sector. The transition from analogue electronics to digital electronics has allowed an exponential growth of this market over the years, increasingly spreading the use of conductors and semiconductors, for which the addition of dielectric materials is always required.
