COMET creates “tailor-made” rubber, silicone and fluorosilicone compounds, providing them most suited to the configuration of each production process.
1980
COMET was founded on November 3, 1980.
1990
2000
In 2000 it reaches three production lines (in addition to the robotic handling of the coils). Meanwhile, COMET enters the world of compounds for extrusion and affirms its presence on an increasingly broader market.
2003
The Bernini Family takes full control of COMET. Lorenzo Bernini’s children, Simona and Matteo, who already work in the company, are able to guarantee the future generational transition.
2008
BHF s.r.l. owned by the Bernini Family, takes over 100% of COMET.
2012
COMET begins construction of the new factory in Coccaglio (BS), which will be completed at the end of 2014.
2015
COMET moves to the new production site with 12,000 m² of covered surface area and three mixing lines. The production capacity is thus increased to 28,000 tons/year.
2016
On May 31, COMET acquires Laborsil (Bergamo) and expands its offering in the silicone and fluorosilicone compounds sector.
2018
The merger by incorporation of LABORSIL into COMET takes place in June; a unique company is officially born. Comet’s brand is restyled and its graphic design is renewed.
In October the company achieves the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, which certifies the Environmental System Management standard.
2019
The production facilities of silicone is moved from Bergamo to Coccaglio.
2021
NB Aurora acquires a minority share of COMET to support the Bernini Family in the growth phase of the years to come.
2023
Construction begins on the new factory next to the existing one.
